You reference MMT, but there’s a reason MMT economists typically do not advocate for UBI. The Federal Jobs Guarantee (FJG) is a far more essential program because it functions as a labor price anchor and a transition job to eliminate chronic unemployment.

Further, there is endless socially useful work the government can employ people to do. UBI only makes sense in a post-work world where all that’s left is consumption.
