Several studies, including a recent study from Yale, show that M4A reduces overall health insurance spending. So yes, it’s a net saver. It’s already paid for. You’re just paying a tax instead of premiums.

This is not even to mention the fact that taxes do not actually ‘fund’ anything, and new taxes would not be required for M4A at all. But that’s a more technical discussion.
