The root cause of such low pay in the NWSL stems from low salary cap per team, as Allen emphasis in her piece for Backline Soccer. Why not start there and have both leagues work together to garner funds so that teams across both leagues have the same salary caps?
I’m not exactly sure what you’re proposing here. Are you saying the MLS should subsidize the NWSL?
The root cause of the inequality is that somehow or another MLS teams are pulling in much more revenue than NWSL teams. Maybe the NWSL should switch up its marketing and outreach strategy or look for some other way to increase revenue. I don’t think making the women’s league dependent on the men’s league is a good idea.
