But the ACA is being undermined by Republicans precisely because it left the infrastructure of private insurance untouched. The same perverse incentives that make private health insurance an abomination encourage creeping deregulation. With the individual mandate already repealed, it won’t be long before the rest of the ACA collapses.
With regard to the filibuster, republicans have ALREADY bypassed it to push through nominees and legislation they want. I am not willing to condemn millions of people to misery by insisting we play by rules the right scoffs at.
